What Are The Chances Of HIV Without Vaginal And Anal Intercourse?

default
Posted on Tue, 31 Mar 2015
Question: I had naked body slide. For about 15-20 minutes my penis was rubbed by her stomach and lower abdomen.... No vaginal or anal intercourse.... I am sure the vagina did not touch the penis.....
What is the risk of hiv here. I am very much concerned as i have read the hiv can be in sweat. What if she had dried cum of old customer.
As hiv can survive in absence of oxygen, she was was completely over me for 10-15 minutes and no air between penis and her. Does that cause risk? Again no vaginal or anal touching at all.
Do I need to start PEP?
Do i need to fear and have test done? Can i revive my normal life with my parntner or do I need to wait for 30 days?
Please help.

Brief Answer:
Your HIV risk is negligible

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.

Without vaginal and anal intercourse, touching of penis over lower abdomen carries a negligible risk.
Sweat has no risk for HIV.Transmission of HIV through sweat is not possible.
Close intimacy of body has also no risk for HIV.
No PEP is necessary for you.
Nothing wrong in getting tested for HIV and ruling out HIV. Testing after 12 weeks is preferable. You can resume your sex with your partner after got tested negative for HIV.

Hello dr.
You are saying risk is negligible but PEP not required. Even if there is low risk shoud u suggest PEP.
You also said i can revive my sex life after test.
I am more confused now.
Can you please elaborate?

Brief Answer:
Testing to get a piece of mind without any disturbance.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back. Testing HIV, when there is any doubt, is better to clear these doubts by test and get negative. Thereby unnecessary mental tension would not be there in future at any time and in any occasion. That is applicable also to have sex with your partner.
Your risk is almost nil. Dr S.Murugan

Brief Answer:
PEP is not required as there is no penetrative sex, other occupational risks

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.

I can not use my own words when I tell some facts. I have to be supported by standards recommended by international authorities. The word Negligible risk was used by the site from CDC, XXXXXXX USA which is the more authorized source for any infectious disease is concerned and we doctors world over follow.
Moreover medicine is not mathematics to get a constant and definite answer.
As per the history described by you only I can predict the the possibility.
So I can not use definite affirmative answers in any occasion.
From my opinion you don't need PEP.
