What Are The Chances Of STD Transmission By Kissing?

default
Posted on Mon, 22 Dec 2014
Question: Ok, very simple. I think I am very safe but want to be certain so I don't pass anything to my partner.

A stripper kissed me once no tongue lips only no sores.

And, she sucked and bit lightly on my nipples no blood or fluids.

Level of risk?? And, have you have any documented cases from these activities

n other words, not theoretical but level of real risk for STD?? More likely hit by lightning or any documented cases???

Brief Answer:
Risk of STD's by kissing

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic

I have gone through your query and I have understood it.
Apart from oro-labial herpes, which is transmitted via kissing, you can be assumed to be safe in terms of STD's including HIV.
Definitely the risk would have been more if she had active sores of herpes/cold sores on her lips; the risk of transmitting the infection also depends on the duration of skin-to-skin contact during kissing. The longer the contact the higher the risk.
The virus causing cold sores is present less than 5% of the times in saliva even if there are no visible cold sores.

Brief Answer:
Herpes is the only possibility

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Herpes is the only possibility.
The virus can transmit through skin to skin contact at other sites as well i.e nipples but usually intact skin is more hardy to penetration as compared to mucosa.
