What Are The Chances Of STDs Through Contact With Inanimate Objects?
Question: Hello Doctor,
Firs of all, I always wipe my penis with toilet paper after having pee, so I went to a public bathroom and had a pee. So I used the toilet paper which was over the dispenser, so I wiped my penis with it; then, I realized that paper was wet, so when I unfolded the paper I saw the sputum. Then, I immediately washed and cleaned my penis with shampoo, but it is important to say that I cleaned my penis with cleaned layer of the tissue, which had sputum inside it that is why I did not see. Hypotthetecly, lets say that was fluid or saliva. So my question is that:
Am I exposed of Hiv?
AM I exposed of Any STD?
please explain for me doctor because I am so depressed and worry.

Brief Answer:
Risk towards HIV/STD is remote in this way.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.
HIV and STD organisms are highly fragile and can not be viable outside the body and body fluids. Moreover HIV and STD organisms are not in adequate concentration in saliva or sputum to cause an infection. These diseases can not spread through inanimate objects like toilet papers. You had this toilet paper from the dispenser. It is quite unusual to have sputum inside. Anyhow you had a very negligible risk for HIV/STD.
Nothing to worry.

Thank you very much Doctor for responding!
Doctor I was stupid, I picked up the toilet paper over the dispenser. So I thought someone has put on it without using. So I have unfolded the paper after feeling a wet inside the paper. So I have found the sputum. But it looked like that would be for more than 12 our because it was kind of old; I guess.
however, I have cleaned and washed my penis with shampoo less than a minute after noticing that.
So what do you think about that please?
Dear Doctor,
Also, I forgot to tell you that I also used black oil and Tea Tree directly after washing with shampoo that was less than a minute after using the paper.
I am terrified so please if you can explain if there is any possibility ?
I really appreciate for your detailed responding in advance!
