What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy By Having Unprotected Sex During Ovulation?
Based on your age your chance of conception in this cycle is about 16%
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.
I am Dr Ramadevi Wani. I will be answering your concerns today.
What is your BMI? Maintaining a normal BMI improves your chances of pregnancy.
Since you have regular cycles in all probability you are ovulating regularly. Yet if you have been trying for pregnancy for more than six months then I suggest that your boyfriend and you visit Gynecologist for baseline subfertility investigations ( hormone tests and fallopian tube patency test for you and semen analysis for your boyfriend). Based on the results of investigations treatment can be planned. I am writing this as a woman’s fertility starts decreasing after the age of 35. So you should not waste time.
Presuming all other factors are normal, based on your age your chance of conception in this cycle is about 16% ( Of 100 women aged 35 trying for pregnancy 16 women get pregnant in one month).
To increase your chances of conception you both should maintain normal BMI, quit smoking ( if you're a smoker) reduce caffeinated drinks, and have intercourse at least three times in a week.
Take one tablet of folic acid daily.
Since you are tested HPV positive, I urge you to be regular with your smears.
I hope I have answered your concerns.

hight: 5'6''
weight: 108 lb (just checked this morning)

HDL Cholesterol: 70 mg/dl

We started not using protection in January so it's been about 3 months, however, I did not timed it to see when I am ovulating and when I'm in my most fertile days. This month of April is the first month I actually planned sex based on the positive ovulation test. So should I count the 6 months of trying as April being the first month? I have never used birthcontrol pills before or anything that would interfere with my normal hormonal balance.
I do go periodically (every 6 months) to the obgyn and have always tested normal, however, I did test positive for hpv (high risk) about 2 years ago and again 2 weeks ago. Doctor said it is something that will never go away. His advice was to take folic acid and come back again in one year. I take one tablet of folic acid daily 400mcg and try to eat healthy. I don't smoke and only drink socially. Lately not so much. I don't drink coffee. However, I do not exercise and have a 9-5 desk job. I'm not sure what else I could do. Any prenatal multivitamins that you could recommend? My hair loss is worrisome as I see many strands of hair on pillow when I get up in the morning and on the bathroom floor and my nails are a little brittle.
Also, my partner impregnated a woman 18 months ago so I'm thinking his semen is not the problem. Thank you and looking forward to any advice you may give.

Check Serum progesterone and semen analysis. Details below.

Hi,
Welcome back.
Your blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol levels are excellent. Nothing to worry about it.
Count January as first month of trying for pregnancy. If you don’t conceive by XXXXXXX consult doctor. There is no need to time intercourse with fertile period or ovulation. If you have sex every 2 days (3-4 times in a week) it automatically takes care of fertile period.
Your BMI is low. Normal BMI is 19-25Kg/M2. Since you are having regular cycles low BMI is unlikely to be a problem in your case. Yet try to increase your weight. Take high protein diet. Eat fresh fruits and vegetables daily. Eat a handful of nuts (not roasted) daily. This helps reduce your hair loss too.
Regular cycles suggest that you are likely to be ovulating. Please do Serum progesterone level on day 21 of your cycle to confirm ovulation. This is important. It is also important to confirm your boyfriend’s semen analysis ( I know he has impregnated another womenbefore).
It is good that you don’t smoke and drink only socially. Drinking 1-2 units of alcohol a week is probably okay.
Continue taking folic acid tablet. There is no need for any other prenatal vitamins as long as you eat healthy nutritious food.
I appreciate you have little time left for yourself after the long hours at work. Yet I advise you to exercise at least 30-45 minutes daily, five times a week. This is important for general wellbeing.
For the hair loss, in addition to healthy nutritious diet get your thyroid functions done. I advise you to consult dermatologist to evaluate for any fungal infection on the scalp.
As regards smears follow your doctors advise.
I hope I have answered your concerns.
