Question: I had a mass takrn off my kidney. 6 months check showa clear. What are the chances of renal cancer reeacorring?

Renal cell carcinoma usually responds very well to surgery and does not recurr often, however if it does then it recurs within the first 5 years. Close follow up is required till then. Along with the recurrence one has to carefully follow up on the renal function as well.
In our institute the chances of recurrence was noted at 10.7%. That means there are 90% chances that it will not recur.
