Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your query and understand your concern.
You have to understand survival period and prognosis is usually calculated for 5 years after diagnosis of the cancer.
The chance of survival and period not only depends on his age, health condition, previous treatment, spread of cancer to other organs.
This also depends on the type of cancer either low grade or aggressive form .
As he had the proper treatment with surgery, chemotherapy and radiation, he is surviving now.
I have to explain you that overall 10 year-survival rate of prostate cancer is 98%. ie. 98% of people with prostate cancer live for 10 years after diagnosis. 15 year- survival rate is about 91%.
As he had the treatment properly, we can expect him more than expected survival rate of 15 years after diagnosis.
Now the secondaries in bone is also involved, thus he mist need to taken care of that andadvice him to quit smoking and alcohol.
He should properly follow the oncologist advice and his guidelines to increase the survival.
