What Are The Difference Between Strokes And Mini-strokes?
My local dr. said that I should refrain from driving because I could now have a stroke while driving. Is this True and probable?
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HealthCareMagic.com I am Dr.J XXXXXXX Anto Bruno Mascarenhas, and I am here to help you. I have read your question with care and understand that you wanted to know whether strokes and XXXXXXX strokes are related
Yes
They are related
Ministrokes (TIA - Transient Ischemic Attacks) are due to loss of blood supply or reduced blood supply to brain. During the time when there is low blood supply, the brain stops functioning (the part of brain which has reduced supply) but the cells are still alive
When the blood supply is restored, the cells start to function again
Where as in Stroke, the loss of Blood Supply is more profound and the cells die
If you have had TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack) or RIND (Reversible Ischemic Neurological Disorder) then it means that there is some problem in blood supply to brain and the chance of you getting a stroke is high
Hence you have to follow the precautions
What you doctor has said is true and probable
Hope you found the answer helpful.
