What Are The Differences Among Different Products Of Synovial Injections?

Question: Hello, Dr. XXXXXXX I am being recommended for synovial injections to lubricate knee arthritis. I know there are several products: Uflexxa, Synvic etc. Some courses of therapy are 3 injections while others are 5. What are the differences among the different products and frequency of injection?
Also, is there still no such thing as cartilage replacement, so injections have to be repeated more than once in twelve months?

Hello sir,

These all products contain substance Hyaluronan. This substance is present in normal joint fluid and responsible for the lubricating properties of normal joint fluid. You can go for any one of these products.A three-dose injection series provides relief up to six months. A greater number of injections may provide a longer window of pain relief.
These injections have been shown to help alleviate arthritis symptoms for 6 months, and to delay the need for knee replacement surgery.
