No solid or cystic mass lesion is noted
No calcification is seen
The renal movements are adequate and satisfactory with respiration
The psoas shadow are normal
No perinephric collection is noted
Brief Answer:
CKD
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
The scan report confirms the existence of CKD.
The structural damage is still in grade 1 but the functional aspect is weak as the creatinine is higher than normal.
To conclude, I would say in 7 years the condition might have not cleared or worsened.

Thanks Doctor,
For last seven years since diagnose of CKD he (father) has been put on very aggressive blood pressure and sugar medication along with daily yoga and walk (4KM) schedule. on average his BP is around 90/140 (with medication) and sugar level of 80-90 fasting and 110-120 PP.
Apart from BP and sugar medication on advice of his consulting nephrologist he has started taking sodium bicarbonate tablets and multivitamin with iron supplements from last couple of weeks.
For this stage of CKD, can you please recommend on amount of water intake advisable. he is able to pass urine of around 2 ltrs in a day and there is no water retention visibly observed/ no swelling in any part of the body observed. his current water intake is around 2 ltrs in a day.
A month back he suffered from urinary track infection which relapsed after 12 days from date of stoppage of antibiotic. currently he is again on antibiotic and doing fine. only concern is that how to avoid again the recurrence or relapse of same.
Can he increase water intake by say another half a liter or one liter? without affecting his CKD staus?
Brief Answer:
2 lts per day is fine
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing back.
In case of CKD it is advisable to take water equivalent to the urine output per day. This would maintain the hydration without causing any water retention.
If there are possibilities of urine infection, then taking more (2.5ltr ) water is good but a natural diuretic like Cranberry juice (150ml) taken once in the night would help.
Wish you good health.
