Brief Answer: You are suffering from acute hepatitis. Detailed Answer: Hello XXXX Thanks for writing to XXXXXXX You are suffering from acute hepatitis.Your serum Bilirubin is increased and SGOT is also mildly increased. Acute hepatitis is due to five different types of virus and most of the cases are self limiting and only require supporting therapy. You need few more investigations like routine hemogram,Urine RE/ME,Urine for bile salt and bile pigment,Ultrasound of abdomen,Viral markers,Prothrombin time. You can take tablet Ursodeoxycholic acid 150 mg twice daily for two months.Further requirement of drug depends upon follow up LFT reports. Ursodeoxycholic acid tablets helps in regeneration of damaged liver cells.In follow up reports,Bilirubin level should be below 1.0. You should take fat restricted diet and take carbohydrate rich food. If there is any problem then you should consult your physician. Get well soon. Hope i have answered your query.
