What Are The Possible Side Effects Of Clomid?

Question: Hi,
i am 47 & about to take Clomid to assist me in getting pregnant.
I have already read a lot of info regarding all the side effects & my infertility specialist tells me about possible vagila dryness & the possibility of a cyst growing on either of my ovaries.
I have lovely clear skin & i am so worried about breaking out, although i know this may sound quite vain.
I am also worried that if i do get vaginal dryness, then this will impede in sperm reaching my cervix, hence heightening my chances of conception.
I know that the mucus should be similar to the consistency of egg white.
If my mucus gets thicker, or if it diminishes completely, what can i take to make it come back, or get thinner & become more pliable for sperm?
I have been very lucky, because to this date, i have never suffered from vaginal dryness & actually, because i am older, i am very surprised @ the amount of cervical mucus that i still have every month.
I never have to use KY jelly, nor any other lubricant & most times i'm well lubricated, whether it be prior to my period or afterward, so the changes that may occur using Clomid do worry me.
Also, i've heard that i may get blurred vision, or that my cornea may get a bit yellow, plus hot flushes. I never thought of hot flushes!
There are a number of adverse side effects that i do worry about & i wonder if there is anything else i can try, that may have less side effects, especially for my facial skin?
I am well aware, that any man made drug will have it's drawbacks & side effects unfortunately.
Because of my advanced age, i wonder if i should have an egg reserve test done prior to swallowing Clomid?
There is no point taking Clomid, in my personal opinion, if i've entered Peri-Menopause & have a small egg reserve left.
I am still mestruating each month, although sometimes my cycle is a bit out of whack & it's hard to predict when i am ovulating exactly & if @ all.
My husband & i married later in life & we'd truly love to give it a real chance of trying for our own child, before even considering donor eggs.
I did have a son when i was 22, but i was with my first long term partner & i wasn't deeply connected to him, although we do love our son more than life itself, so having a child now, with my wonderful husband would be a true gift & miracle.
Thank you.

Is there anything else i should also do or have done, along with the egg reserve test?
