What Are The Repercussions Of Accidental Ingestion Of T-Minic Syrup?
Question: My baby weight 11kg age 11 months had tminic syrup 5 ml by mistake. Is it harmful for the baby and what I should do
Brief Answer:
Do not worry
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I understand your concerns but don't worry. The dose is high for your baby and can lead to excess sleepiness, lethargy, poor feeding, irritability etc. These symptoms usually improve within a day. Avoid any further doses. Approach a hospital if you feel the respiration is too shallow and less than 24/min or baby is not accepting feeds for more than 8 hours.
Avoid any medications for mild coughs and colds. Ensure proper dosages after pediatric consultation in future.
Hopefully it will be of help.

baby had about 50 ml of water and then 150 ml of milk.respiartion is OK. and he is playful.now he is sleeping.
I have another query.
he is not taking any food other than milk since last 4 days and if I give anything forcefully he vomits that.is it because of teething.

Brief Answer:
Ensure complementary feeding
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Milk is not a complete food for this age. He needs a proper complementary diet esp rich in iron. During teething, babies avoid hard to chew things but they easily accept semi solid soft diet.
Avoid giving milk during all the meal times. Give feeds at intervals of 3-4 hours so that he feels tempted when offered food. Try to eat together without any distraction. Sing rhymes. Offer finger foods which he can hold and eat along.
Hopefully it will be of help.
