What Are The Repercussions Of Overdosing Valsartan?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: I normally take a single dose of valsatan 160 mg. I accidentally took a second dose.
Brief Answer:
It shouldn't cause any serious problems.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.
I have read your question and understand your concerns.
Maximal dose of valsartan is 320 mg/day, twice or single dose.
There should be no serious effects of this double dose, but blood pressure and heart rate should be monitored for at least 4-5 hours.
If blood pressure and pulse within normal ranges ( BP > 90/60 mmHg, and heart rate > 60/ min ) just rest and take a lot of fluids.
If lower values, you should be evaluated by your Doctor.
If no problems today, then you should continue the treatment normally.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Greetings.
It shouldn't cause any serious problems.

Thank you Doctor yes I did survive just fine. I was unable to view your answer until late last night. I was able to contact poison control who said much the same as you. I will be more careful as I only take one prescription and have for over five years. I won't be doing THAT again. I'm 57 year old and like to think have my brain in good working order !
