Brief Answer:
it will wear off in 24 to 48 hours

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The half life of a medication is the time it takes for the amount of drug in the body to decrease by half, it takes 3 to 5 half lives for a medication to be mostly eliminated.

The half life for xanax would vary according to the strength used, xanax is available in 0.5 mg to 3mg tablets usually. Some persons would use a combination of tablets for increased dose

The half life is approximately 6.3 to 26.9 hour, ave 11 hours.

This means that by average of 22 hours, the dose would have halved twice in his body.

The drowsiness will wear off. He can sleep it off. Within 24 to 48 hours, he should feel okay.
At this stage, you can monitor him. Monitor to make sure that he is breathing fine and he is comfortable, it should not be a problem but you can check.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
