What Are The Side Effects Of AF Kit For Vaginal Infection?
Question: I have been advised to take AF kit coz of vaginal infection and my doctor has also asked my husband to take this medicine...since our second dose today which we had to take prior to our lunch...we both are feeling somewhat suffocated and nausea..please advice should we take the last dose of two tablets after dinner

Take Raniditine/ Aciloc , milk/ ice-cream, soft bland diet.
Which tablet is remaining to be taken now? I hope it must be Ornidazole 750 mg- 2 tablets. You may take one after the dinner and the remaining tomorrow after breakfast or lunch.
I hope you do not have any other symptoms of rash or so.
These kits are made for the convenience of single doses.

If you both are comfortable by night then only take one tablet of Ornidazole after the dinner with milk or curds. You can take the another ( last remaining tomorrow).This will work perfectly.

We did not feel better yesterday after taking AZITHROMYCIN and consulted a doctor who advised us not to take the last tablets of Ornidazole instead she advised to take one tablet today and remaining one tommorrow after dinner.
I just wanted to know whether this will be ok as I read on internet that Ornidazole has various side effects including nausea, vomiting, fainting etc. More than me my husband was complaining of restlessness.
Please advise should we take the medicine tonight as we have to travel outstation tomorrow morning for vacations.

You can certainly take Ornidazole as advised by your Doctor if you are comfortable today.
I hope you have taken Raniditine/ Aciloc , milk/ ice-cream, soft bland diet. By this time you both would have felt better. You can also take an antacid gel like Mucaine or Happicid 3 tsf when you are empty stomach 4 to 6 times in a day to hasten the progress.
There are alternatives for Ornidazole like Metronidazole. The problem is you have to take Metronidazole thrice daily for 5 days, but is better tolerated. Another alternative called Tagrid ( Tinidazole + Diloxanide Furoate) which is enteric coated, meaning it will not cause gastric upset ( although diloxanide furoate will have to taken as it is a combination with tinidazole). This does not cause gastric upset.
All work well for vaginitis. Please discuss this with your Doctor. You may please continue your trip for vacation.
