What Are The Side Effects Of Aleve?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
heart disease/stroke risk with high dose or very long history of use
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
All medications have potential side effects but the side effects occur in the minority not the majority of persons.
Some persons experience no effects at all, others only a few and others may have many effects.
Side effects are more common with high doses or if meds used for long period of time.
There is a risk of heart disease and stroke with aleve but this is greater if there is a recent previous heart attack or bypass or if a lot of risk factors are present (high blood pressure, smoking, high cholesterol, diabetes)
Your heart disease/stroke risk would decrease once you stop the medication. It can still be used intermittently if you need it.
There are also other side effects as well but these would occur at the time you are taking the medication eg constipation, reflux, abdominal pain, dizziness, headache, GI bleed
If these did not occur at the time you were using the medication and you have no lingering reflux/heartburn then you are likely ok with regard to these.
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
