Detailed Answer:
Hi there.
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understood your problem.
Codeine acts on opioid receptors blocking pain signals from the body to the brain.
Tablet can be taken once or twice a day over 6 hours apart. Must not consume more than 8 tablets per day.
It must be cautiously used in persons with allergy and those with Asthma.
It is known to cause common side effects of medication like constipation, dryness of mouth, nausea, vomiting, skin rashes or itching, urinary disturbance. Main side effect is drowsiness or dizziness especially with higher doses, so you must be very cautious while driving or operating machinery. Avoid taking other sedative medicines and alcohol along with this. You can swallow the tablet and not try to dissolve it in water.
The bottom line is, if taken for a long time especially in higher doses, it can can cause dependence and possibly constipation which is a feature of all opioid dependence.
Also use warm soaks over your sore muscles, as they relieve muscle spasms. Avoid allergens. Keep warm. Consume warm food and fluids. Exercise regularly which helps in alleviating allergic disorders. Stay stress free with deep breathing exercises and Yoga.
