What Are The Side Effects Of Dilantin?
Question: I am epileptic and have been on Dilantin over 45 years. I am now switching to carbamazephine
due to long term side effects (insomnia, swelling. I am gradually reducing my dilantin as Dr. said
but I would like to know what my withdrawal symptoms could be. I would also like to know how long
it takes for my body to be free of it.

Tapering Dilantin is usually not very troublesome and withdrawl symptoms are often not significant.Strange feelings that you are having should not last for more than a few days, although there is no defined fixed period for the same,as there are no formal research studies regarding this.
