Question: I have just spoken to my doctor and she has asked me to try going on 80mg of Duloxetine for bladder control(overactive bladder symptoms) this will be from 60mg. Are there any side effects I need to be aware of regarding the dose change?

Brief Answer:
Mild dizziness, headache, restlessness can occur but will be self limiting.

Detailed Answer:
Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. Duloxetine is a SNRI drug and you have been taking the drug in 60 mg doses. It is not advisable to start the drug in high doses but since you are already taking 60 mg dose and have to increase the dose to 80 mg then no need to worry. Slight restlessness, headache, dizziness, drowsiness etc might occur but these side effects will reduce with in a week.

Thanks, Hope this helps you. Please don't hesitate to ask again for more doubts.

Take care

Brief Answer:
There will be positive effects on mood

Detailed Answer:
Hello again and thanks for asking a follow up

Effects on sleep would not be significant. In some individuals Duloxetine is known to cause hypersomnia but in others it can cause mild insomnia. But as you were already on 60 mg and are going to increase to 80 mg.

The increase in dose will improve the mood and any symptoms of depression will reduce.

Thanks, Still have more doubts please ask again.
