What Are The Side Effects Of Lodoz And Cilacar?

Question: Hello, I am 31 year old male. Currently suffering from hypertension(120/180). Now taking lodoz and cilacar 5 mg. Is there any side effects by long term usage of these medicines. Also please suggest if any other solutions/medicines exists.

I am Dr.Rajesh Teli,MD.
I have gone through your query.
Thanks for using HCM.
Basically at age 31, if you have high blood pressure you must undergo complete evaluation to rule out any secondary cause, which may be responsible for high blood pressure.
High blood pressure after age of 40 is mostly essential without any cause and needs life long medication.But at young age if one can find any cause then correcting that cause may eliminate need for life long medication.Though there may be essential High Blood pressure at young also.However you must undergo evaluation including kidney functions and Doppler of vessels of kidneys.
At this level of BP you should take medicines.As far as Lodoz is concerned ,it is Beta blocker ,and it may cause sexual dysfunction. so you should discuss with your treating doctor about shifting over to ACE inhibitor group of medication to control BP.
