What Are The Side Effects Of Potassium Gluconate?
Brief Answer:
Gastritis and Hyperkalemia.
Detailed Answer:
Welcome To HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney.
I understand your concern.
Pottasium gluconate if given orally causes severe gastritis. If given through intravenous route can cause thrombophlebitis (inflammation of veins).
In very high doses in person's with normal kidney functions and in even low doses in person's with kidney issues can cause hyperkalemia( rise in Pottasium levels more then normal limit). This rise is very dangerous and can cause arrhythmias and heart block.
I hope it helps.
If you have any further query, please ask me.
