Question: I'm about to go through radiation therapy for rectal cancer. I'm not sure what to expect during the radiation procedure. I'm a very modest person and I want to know if I can wear a gown during the procedure or I have to be naked from the waist down in front of a bunch of people. Can you answer that? I'm too embarrassed about my hangups to even ask my radiation doctor or nurse about it. This seems easier.

During radiation therapy you would be required to wear a gown,which is designed to prevent exposure of radiation to your body.However there will be a small opening in it(At most of the hospitals) from where radiation beam will be given to the respected area.
In most of the cases you need not to be naked below waist.Don.t worry even in case they have different protocols you can ask your doctor for gown.
