Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Thanks for the query on the health care magic platform.
- Your history of taking the antibiotic pill & having the rash on face the next day morning itself indicates it to be an allergic rash, I have seen the attached photographs & they too suggest allergy .This allergy may be due to antibiotic or other accompanying drugs.
* In this scenario, first thing to do is to withdraw the antibiotic & all the accompanying medicines &consult your treating physician earliest . He may-
- After stopping the antibiotic prescribe an anti allergic medicine to arrest the allergic symptoms.(Some times we give steroids in severe allergies.) He will exclude/ find other signs of allergy To treat it well.
-Start with a safer & suitable antibiotic for controlling the infection.
- In case you need the same antibiotic for your infection control- he may use the same antibiotic with desensitization for the allergy ( by using histamine cell blockers)
* Self care-
Don't get tense. Be careful & watchful for other side effects of the drug like nausea, vomiting , diarrhea/breathlessness./ rashes all over body with itching In case you have them bring it to your doctor's notice.
If there is breathlessness/ excessive symptoms - you have to have urgent treatment - by your doctor Or may be you visit ER.
- Till you reach your doctor,take rest. You can apply Lactocalamine to the rash.Can take Tab. Cetrizine over the counter after food. take light nutritious food & drink lot of water.
- Follow doctor's treatment regularly.
- Note name of the antibiotic & make it a point to avoid it in future .. life long. Tell about to allergy to the treating doctor for ever,
* Thus with quick withdrawal of medicines & management of allrgy, you would be normal soon.
