What Are The Side Effects Of Large Dose Of Namenda?

It may cause some neurological effects
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for posting your query on HealthcareMagic.
I am sorry to know of the situation that you are facing.
Namenda is memantine and is used in moderate to severe Alzheimer's Disease. The starting dose is 5 mg per day and the dose is increased to 20 mg per day. It has to be increased in 5 mg increments. The interval between increments has to be atleast 1 week or even more.
The neurological side effects of this medicine include confusion, agitation, headache, anxiety, hallucinations, depression, somnolence. These side effects confounding the symptoms of dementia, would make judgement difficult for your husband. Altered judgment may be responsible for this one time behavior of his. There is some evidence of altered behavior in mice but enough research has not been conducted on humans about it. That is all that is known in medical literature about it.
I would suggest not to look for intentions behind someone's mistakes.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
