my partner has had a really high fever for the past 2 days and has been getting headaches also. when attempting to sleep he is experiencing hallucinations and nausea and also experiences cold spells. Do you know what s going on?? kind regards, Lauren
Headache and nausea are symptoms of migraine but your partner is also having the symptoms of high fever with hallucinations. You are suggested to get your partner clinically examined in ER, get him all required blood tests, urinalysis and imaging tests done. He will be treated accordingly. Such symptoms may be indicative of brain and spinal cord infections (due to bacteria or virus) like meningitis and encephalitis, can cause both fever and hallucinations.
He should keep hydrated and take tepid baths or cold compresses to stay comfortable. He can take acetaminophen, one SOS to ease discomfort and fever. He needs antibiotics and urgent medical support. This is not the time to stay at home. Get him admitted and treated at the earliest.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
