What Are The Side Effects Of Overdose Of Neurontin?

Question: I have been overdosed with neurontin. Legs give up after about 50 metres of walking. Arm movement limited and finger articulation dimished, giving difficulty in dressing. My doctor has cut the dosage back to 300 mg per day and he says my kidneys will gradually excrete the surplus neurontin in my tissues. Have you an alternative treatment to restore my muscle strength? The neurontin supplements fentanyl (75 mcg/h and tramadol 50 mg twice daily for post herpetic neuralgia.
Brief Answer:
Test ncv
Detailed Answer:
Hi, I am Dr Mittal. I have read your message. I think I can help you.
The symptoms of the query are quite suggestive of a possible nerve issue. These are the same symptoms that come with a neuropathy.
I think the best solution for your problem would be to confirm the diagnosis by a NERVE CONDUCTION STUDY OF ALL 4 LIMBS.
Let me know when you get the tests. Alternatively, meet a neurologist.
Best of luck. Dr Mittal.

Brief Answer:
Asthenia
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for your response.
I would like to know on what investigatory basis was the asthenia diagnosed.
Unfortunately, there is not much as far as the treatment options are available.
However, I have a few patient's records in whom I had started vitamin D supplements.
They had responded moderately well, and almost all of them responded better on Quality of Life questionnaires that I used for them.
However, there is no official guidelines to this.
So you may try the therapy.
Since I don't know the primary conditions completely, I think you can discuss this with your regular doctor.
Best of luck,
Dr Mittal
