Brief Answer:
steroid side effects
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question.
Gupisone is a steroid medication and acts as an antiinflammatory medication. It can calm down contact allergies. Common side effects include weight gain, elevated blood pressure, stomach upset and ulcer. Because you are on it short term hopefully you will not have any of these side effects. It is best to take it with food to protect your stomach.
Good day to you,

Further to my question yesterday regarding prescription for cortisone to treat contact allergy.
Can you tell my if you think the dose is unusually high, also should I continue to take antihistamine daily , finally the ’sunburn type rash has spread to my face could this be a reaction to the steroid.
Thanks and regards

Brief Answer:
dose is standard
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your follow up.
The dose prescribed is standard. We usually start at a relatively high dose 40-60 mg then taper off.
You can certainly continue to take the antihistamine with the steroid.
Sometimes a flushing sort of sensation can be experienced with steroid medications, but if you think the rash is getting worse instead of better then you would need to see your doctor again. It should be calming down quickly with that dose of steroid
