What Are The Side Effects Of Using Tizanadine?
Question: Hi , I have used various muscle relaxers with no major interactions ,but with Tizanadine I did.Normally I take one Flexiril 10mg at bedtime every night. The Tizanidine is prescribed 1-4mg three times a day on top of the flexeril. I also take hyrocodone. I have Addisons disease and have recently gone through epidural injections of Cortisone combined with trigger point injections.
Brief Answer:
Nerve ablations and flexiril/baclofen
Detailed Answer:
Hi there,
Tizanadine is one of a few handfuls of medications that has a large amount of interactions. It is a centrally acting medication that is used to treat the spasms, cramping, and tightness of muscles caused by a variety of medical problems. Since it is centrally acting, it can also have significant side effects, but this is the reason why it works so well. If I were you, I would continue to take the flexiril and baclofen, with as many epidural injection your insurance company will allow you. If you do not get relief with the epidurals, I would try nerve ablations.

Brief Answer:
Minimally invasive procedure performed under fluoroscopy
Detailed Answer:
Hi there,
Nerve ablation or radiofrequency ablation is a minimally invasive procedure performed under fluoroscopy (live x-ray) to reduce pain. An electrical current produced by a radio wave is used to heat up a small area of nerve tissue, thereby decreasing pain signals from that specific area. The goal is to interrupt the pain signals to the brain, thus eliminate pain. It is used to help patients with long standing neck and back pain that is related to degeneration of the joint from arthritis like you have. Pain relief varies, but generally last about 9-18 months.
