What Are The Signs And Symptoms Of Heat Stroke?
Question: I'm living in a tent through the winter while pursuing building a home. In order to stay warm, I sleep in a -60 degree fahrenheit sleeping bag, with a bunch of blankets (including a mylar survival blanket) on top of the sleeping bag. Even though the temperature inside the bag gets up to 95 degrees fahrenheit and I sweat a lot, if I don't do this, I will be too cold. Is there any risk of heat stroke if I am sleeping in a 95 degree fahrenheit environment all night? My body temperature seems to stay around 96.5 degrees fahrenheit during this time, as measured on a basal oral thermometer.
Brief Answer:
Please, do well to drink much water.
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
Your body temperature has managed to stay normal and therefore there is no risk for heat stroke at this time. However, you need to drink much water daily to stay well hydrated and minimize any possibility of a heat stroke. This is the key to staying healthy. Remember heat stroke occurs when the body lacks enough fluids to regulate the body temperature.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
