What Are The Signs And Symptoms Of Lung Cancer?
Question: I went to see my doctor just because I felt anxious and nevus, but doctor asked me to take a x ray, here is the results. they wanted to treated me as pneumonia first, but I did not have fever, I am taking antibiotic for 4 days now. Another doctor on line told me I did not have pneumonia because I did not have fever. He thought I just did not hold my breath enough so had subtle atelectasis.
Having Pneumonia must have fever?
Cardiomediastinal silhouette is normal. Minimal increased lung
markings noted in both lower lobes which could be related to
subtle atelectasis especially in right lower lobe. Subtle
infiltrate can't entirely exclude. Lungs are otherwise clear
without pulmonary edema, focal consolidation, or pleural effusion.
No pneumothorax.
** IMPRESSION **:
Minimal increased lung markings noted in both lower lobes which

Brief Answer:
No there is no suggestion of lung cancer
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I understand your concerns. This Xray report does not suggest any cancer.
No why this subtle atelectasis is there is another question. Some pneumonia do not have fever but you do not have any other symptoms of pneumonia also.
To better delineate things we can surely do a high resolution CT thorax but it may be an overkill. we could just wait and watch for some more time.
Hope this helps.
Regards

I had cough with some phlegm; sputum, ( a few months ago even more serious) Actually, after it is getting much better after I took antibiotics. What my doctor said because I did not have fever so need to pay more attention bothered me a lot.
I never have ad a fever for over 30 years, is that possible I will not get fever if the infection is early stage>
Do you agree that subtle altelectasis some times caused by not holding enough breath? I remember when I did the x ray, I nearly hear that old ( very old ) technician 's voice, and I did not pay attention if I hold the breath enough.
I will be finished my antibiotics today, Should I go to take another x ray which my doctor ordered for me already on Monday ( it not be too early right?)
Last question: what will cause subtle atelectasis?

Brief Answer:
might have been pneumonia then
Detailed Answer:
Yes, if there was cough with sputum, pneumonia in mild form could have been there. That can cause this subtle atelectasis.
Not holding breath enough can also cause these minimally increased lung markings.
I would consider getting an Xray after few weeks as this might be too early.
Overall, I think there is nothing to worry.
