Question: Hi, I suspect I may have scabies. Is diprosalic alone enough? I'm applying it daily after my morning shower.

Brief Answer:
You should think of permethrin for the treatment rather than diprosalic.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Welcome to HCM.

If I am your treating doctor I would like to advice that You should think of permethrin for the treatment rather than diprosalic ointment alone (combination of steroid-betamethsone and salicylic acid) because scabies is a ectoparasitic infection,a kind of skin infestation caused by a tiny microscopic bug known as the human itch mite.

It is a common in people living in dense atmosphere like hostels, military houses. All the candidates of the house should be treated simultaneously. Apply permethrin from below head up to toe.

There are other medications also available in market for treatment of scabies like ivermectin and benzyl benzoate etc.

But the only thing is the disease should be confirmed by a doctor and proper drug and dosage is decided individually.

And hence, why you will need to see dermatologist for diagnosis confirmation first and his/her prescription.

If you have further query, you may ask me.

Regards,
