What Are The Symptoms Of HIV?
Question: hi i had sex like a month ago and i used protection. I started reading about the hiv symptoms on the internet suddenly and i am scared. I am scared everyday. Even if i have a simple rash on chest after workout i get scared. it disappears thpugh by morning. I got tested 2 days ago(ora hiv test) at a nearby test center and it was negative.
Please help me get through this anxiety.

I have read through your query in detail.
It is important to know if you used a condom during your sexual intercourse incident a month ago. If you have used a condom then there is no need to worry at all.
However if you did not use condom then there is a small risk of HIV. As you have got a test done and your result is negative therefore you can relax right now.
It will be better if you can upload copy of test report so that I can confirm if doing one test is alright or further testing is needed.
In fourth generation HIV testing, one test done after 12 days is enough. In earlier third generation tests it is to be done once at 3 months and again at 6 months. If both results are negative then there is no infection.
Please relax and do not get in to anxiety. If your test is negative then subsequent testing if required will also be negative.

I used the condom. The test that I had was an ora test (they swipe something through your gums and give the result in 20 mins, antigen and antibodies) which came negative. But i am paranoid and anxious. :(

The information concerning ora test from the test kit manufacturer says that
"A negative result with this test does not mean that you are definitely not infected with HIV, particularly when exposure may have been within the previous 3 months."
I am sure you are negative and for double confirmation and peace of mind I recommend that you get tested after 3 months by another test.
Many people do get anxious and that is the reason you can get another test one after 3 months and the results will be negative. This will help reduce anxiety and help you get peace of mind.
