What Are The Symptoms Of Gastric Ulcer?

Question: My GF vomited with little blood I don't know what is the house but she took many Norlevo pills to prevent pregnancy... I don't now what else should info I should provide you with but she is very worried, is it dangerous or normal and does she need to see a doctor?

I went through your query and understood your concerns.

Gastric ulcer are common cause for vomiting blood. Increased secretion of gastric acid results in gastric mucosal tear resulting in bleed.

For my patients with similar complaints, I manage them with acid reducing medications like tab. pantoprazole once a day 40 mg and antiemetic for vomiting.
If vomiting repeats then need to be examined and hospitalised for management bleeding,
For single episode of vomiting up blood can managed medically.
Better to avoid spicy food for next 4-5 days. She can have milk , which neutralises acid.

Frequent use of emergency pill not recommend , instead of that can go for other method of contraception.

Does emergency pills has to anything with it?

She mention that the blood is dark red and little bit clotted and she haven't eaten anything before she vomit.

Yes , emergency pill do cause gastric irritation and increased acid secretion. which results in mucosal damage in stomach.
Vomiting dark brown color blood signifies bleeding within stomach.
for my patients with similar complaints with single episode of vomiting I treat them with acid reducing medication and anti emetics.

If vomiting repeats then hospital management required.
