Heat stroke usually develops after excessive exposure to sun or some other heat sources. It can develop after long exposure,but in older people,children,dehydrated people and chronic ill people it can develop even after 1-2 hours of exposure to intensive sunlight.
It is manifested by localized signs such as sun burns,rash,face redness and systemic signs: fever,headache, dizziness,exhaustion, vision disorder, nausea,vertigo. severe cases can lead to seizures, coma and death.
it should be treated by avoiding hot environment, resting, drinking plenty of fluids, bathing in cool water, apply certain creams on burns. More serious cases where we have older people, children,dehydratation, confusion,hypotension,seizures, intensive pain shuld be treated in hospital by intravenous fluids .
