Question: Hi my girlfriend of 6 yrs has just told me she has anal herpes after a recent breakout after a colonoscopy
She didn't know of the herpes until now as far as I know I don't have herpes ,we have never had anal sex
However she had before going out with me is this possible, also if I have only had vaginal sex with her

Sometimes the diagnosis could possibly be deceived if we have the diagnosis only by inspection alone. Laboratory investigations also necessary to support this diagnosis.
If it is confirmed as Anal Herpes infection, then there is a possibility for her acquired the infection well before she became your girl friend due to her past activities as you had no anal sex with her.
