Consultation with a physician, general surgeon and psychiatrist is required
Detailed Answer:
Hello sir,
Thanks for writing in to us at hcm.
This is Dr.Riyanka and I am glad to be helping you with your query.
As far as i know there is no term called as hyneial hernia and probably you are referring to hiatal hernia.
Your diaphragm normally has a small opening (hiatus) through which your food tube passes to join your stomach.
A hiatal hernia occurs when part of your stomach pushes upward through your diaphragm.
The symptoms are belching, chest pain , regurgitation of food, vomiting. This is more common in obese people.
Therefore the episode of vomiting that you got was probably due to this problem. You should consult a general surgeon regarding this as you may require treatment be it medical or surgical depending on the seriousness of the problem.
It definitely looks like you have been under lot of stress hence may be having chest pain , panic attacks and restlessness. However, since you are a chronic smoker it is important to rule out any cardiovascular problems or respiratory problems.
It is important to visit a general physician/ cardiologist regarding a few non invasive cardiac tests like Electrocardiography and Echocardiography and a few blood tests.
The drugs like xanax is highly may relieve stress but has many side effects and also dextery is not good for long term use. Hence , you could visit a pschiatrist regarding panic attacks.
Meanwhile you can try doing yoga and meditation for 30 minutes each day for relaxation.
You need to make life style modifications like slowly cutting down on smoking to avoid withdrawl symptoms and dietary changes.
Hope this answers your query.
