What Are The Symptoms Of Rotator Cuff Tear?
It was put back into place and went to a chiropractor.
Took three weeks off and then went back to softball. After three weeks she had pain again. Had PT and anti-inflammatories for three weeks and got better. She stopped the anti-inflammatories and started throwing again. Her entire shoulder hurts and pain going into ribs.
She did had elbow pain and tingling in pinkie and ring finger.
Are her symptoms a tear or impingement?
Likely to be tear or impingement.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The persistent pain on the activity even after three weeks of physiotherapy cannot be attributed to inflammation only. This is likely to be due to shoulder impingement or rotator cuff tear. This can be diagnosed only after an MRI scan of the affected shoulder.
The tingling in pinkie and ring finger are suggestive of compression of ulnar nerve due to inflammation or the tear. This needs a proper examination and investigations under the guidance of an orthopedician. Till then avoid all overhead movements. She can take mild pain killers after meals for the pain.
I hope this answers your query.

Can a tear cause the pain the travel through armpit and ribs? Pt thought if anything a labrum tear not rotor cuff.
Can a labrum tear cause all this pain!
Labrum tear less liekly.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
A small labrum tear should not cause such a persistent pain. It is better to get an MRI scan done for a proper diagnosis instead of guessing. The nerve compression symptoms also need to be taken care of. A labral tear can also cause an intense pain radiating to the ribs if proper healing is not there.
