What Are The Symptoms Of Stage 5 Kidney Failure?

Question: If the renal function of an elderly person continues to deteriorate to the point whereby the estimated GFR is 28, the creatinine is 204 umol/L and the urea is 34.0 mmol/L then would this be likely to be classified as Stage 5 kidney failure or end stage renal failure?

I understand your concern and query.After going through the lab values you mentioned, shows that the patient is in stage 4 kidney failure.

Glomerular filtration rate has dropped to 28, and if it goes below 15,it goes to stage 5 kidney failure or End stage renal failure alongwith changes in other lab values too.
