Brief Answer:
Chronic pain needs management
Detailed Answer:
Hello madam!
Chronic abdominal pain with 4 surgeries, no wonder you are in pain. Add to this trouble is the bed ridden state of yours.
I am sorry to hear about your doctor. If you want you can replace another good practitioner who is patient friendly and does not treat you badly. But remember when doctor remain cautious in pain management they want you to avoid over dosages and misuse. After all remember the goal of all this effort is restoration of normal function (minimal
disability), better quality of life, reduction of use of medication, and prevention of relapse of chronic symptoms.
You for sure need a pain management. But more than that you need a little effort to do physical therapies and vocational therapies and seek psychiatric help for management of your this
chronic pain syndrome.
Since an online prescription is not valid, my prescription will not help you and
over the counter medication may not help.
Aside from vocational, recreational , psychiatric and physical therapies which you need the most to feel better, there are other options which you can discuss with you GP to see what is best for you.
1) Nerver Blocks
2)
Spinal Cord Stimulation
3) Intrathecal Morphine Pumps.
I believe in Patient Control Analgesia PCA as patient has the right to remain pain free. Discuss all these options with your doctor and they will decide what is best for you.
The list of drugs which you can discuss with your doctor are
1) skeletal muscle relaxants like Tizanidine
2) Antidepressants like Flouexatines, paroxetenes, TCAs etc.
3) Anti convulsants like Gabapentin and pregabalin
4) Analgesics like oxycodone, fentanyl,
acetaminophen ibuprofen etc.
If your current GP is unable to write a prescription, you may ask for a referral to another pain medicine specialist /
psychiatrist to start the treatment early.
Hope i answered your query. If you have any further queries please feel free to ask. Other wise kindly close the discussion and rate the answer as per your experience.
I wish you a very good luck. Take some very good care of yourself
Regards
