What Are The Treatments For Pimples?
Salicylic acid based cleanser+clindamycin+adapalene
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us
I have taken note of your query and I have understood it.
Oily skin is prone to acne, specially in hot and humid climate.
I suggest you to use a Salicylic acid based cleanser, twice daily.
Salicylic acid reduces skin oil and is exfoliating, therefore benefits acne.
It is available OTC as well as on prescription of a dermatologist.
"Neutrogena Oil Free Cleanser" contains salicylic acid and is an OTC Brand. You may try to find it from a drug store near you.
The topical preparation that you have been using already contains Clindamycin Phosphate 1% in a gel form.
Topical Clindamycin phosphate 1% gel is useful for inflammatory acne i.e acne that is red, pustular, painful, nodular etc.
You may continue with it. Use it as a spot treatment over active acne during day time, once or twice daily.
At night I suggest you to use Adapalene 0.1% gel over the acne prone/ affected area.
Use it as a thin film over the acne prone area. Do not rub.
Adapalene is comedolytic and therefore prevents new acne formation while also treating existing ones.
On account of its comedolytic action, Adapalene gel can also be used as a maintenance treatment to keep your acne under control.
General measures include...
