Brief Answer:
There can be infectious and non infectious causes for inflammations in lung

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thnanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. Inflammatory conditions in the lungs causing symptoms of nodules and lymph nodes can be broadly classified as infectious and non infectious.

2. In infections, there are conditions including active granulomatous infections like tuberculosis, coccidioidomycosis, histoplasmosis, cryptococcus, and aspergillosis.

3. In non infectious conditions there is sarcoidosis and hypersensitivity pneumonitis in differential diagnosis.

It is some times difficult to make a confirmed diagnosis by CT scan and additional blood tests is required. Wishing you good health.

Hope your query is answered.
Please do write back if you have any doubts.

I looked up all of the different Inflammatory conditions that are listed above and didn't seem to have the symptoms of any of the conditions. The only symptoms that I have are: Fatigue by over exerting myself (work). I feel slightly light headed, slightly short of breath, I also was diagnosed with Diverticulitis. during the CT scan they found the nodules in my lungs. can this be related? based off these facts is Lymphoma more of a possibility? Thanks for answering my questions:)

Brief Answer:
Sarcoidosis and lymphoma both have similar possibilities

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing back with an update.

1. Fatigue which is not explained can be a symptom of lymphoma, but then many other conditions can cause similar problems. Many conditions can have overlapping symptoms and fatigue is one of the commonest symptoms found in many conditions.

2. Diverticulitis is less likely to cause your symptoms. However, it is important to know that there are patients who can have sarcoidosis and diverticulitis.

3. It is important to kow the size and distribution of lung nodules and lymph nodes that you are having. If the nodules and lymph nodes are small then you have an early stage of disease condition which is completely curable.

I suggest you do not worry about lymphoma and allow your doctors to investigate in detail. A lymph node FNAC or biopsy might help in making a confirmed diagnosis.

Hope your query is answered.
