What Are The Withdrawal Symptoms Of Cymbalta?

Question: Daughter been out of cymbalta 60 mg for 5 days and is experiencing withdrawal symptoms. won't get a refill till tomorrow. I have zoloft 50 mg in-house. Would taking one offset her withdrawal symptoms and tide her over till tomorrow when refill is ready?

Zoloft will not help

Hello and thank you for your question.
While the withdrawal from cymbalta can be uncomfortable, she will not have any permanent damage from this. Taking a dose of zoloft will not help at all so I do not advise that you give her that.
It would have been more helpful if she knew that she was going to run out if she cut her doses in half to reach to the date she could get a refill.
Today have her drink plenty of water and sleep as much as she can until she can get medication tomorrow.
