Brief Answer: CATHETERIZATION IS REQUIRED. Detailed Answer: Hello Thanks for writing to us with your health concern. You need to be thoroughly evaluated for your urinary retention which is chronic now it seems. The commonest reasons in a female can be laxity of the bladder and vaginal tissues due to age ( cystocele ), infections, narrowing of the urethra ( stricture ), nerve damage, stroke etc. Please consult a Urologist for detailed testing which includes physical examination, dynamic uroflow testing, imaging of the urinary tract. You might have been catheterized earlier, and shown how to do it yourself. If so, then please catheterize yourself, if not, then please visit the nearest ER to get yourself catheterized. Also, you might need permanent treatment in the form of a surgery . All the best Please feel free to discuss further.
Note: Consult a Urologist online for consultation about prostate and bladder problems, sexual dysfunction, kidney stones, prostate enlargement, urinary incontinence, impotence and erectile dysfunction - Click here.
