Brief Answer: gas pain Detailed Answer: Dear XXXXXXX Thanks for contacting Ayurveda with your child's query and following points need clarification before suggesting Ayurveda line of management. 1. since baby is 2 months old, is he been examined by child specialist for any other cause resulting in the same.? 2. any excess crying [because baby swallow air when they cry]? 3. does distraction seems to make stomach pain go away? [i.e. if child gets better it is not gas or pain] 4. since with infants and new born babies, because of their immature gut, this problem is bothersome [an excessive amount of gas may point to incomplete digestion of food due to a newborns' very immature digestive processes, which have not had time to build up adequate beneficial flora (probiotics) and enzymes in the gut], thus before prescribing Ayurveda supplementation, proper feeding techniques may help infant from being gassy: . feed baby in a vertical angle. . burp during and after feeding . because breast feeding, make sure each feed is neither too fast or too slow. 5. you can give Gripe water which is safe for infants in a dose of 5 ml [1 teaspoonful- 3 time daily]. please revert back with above concerns, so that Ayurveda Dietary Regime and treatment can be initiated Dr. Munish Sood Consultant & Physician Naimiitika Clinic

Brief Answer: Ayurveda Supplementation Detailed Answer: Dear XXXXXXX Thanks for reverting back with your replies 1. since examination/consultation with child specialist is still to be done, make sure you go for the same to rule out any hidden cause of colic and gas problem. 2. along with feeding techniques you can give "ARVINDASAVA" [Baidyanath] in a dose of: 2 drops of medicine with 2 drops of water [since age is 2 months] twice daily. 3. yes, after grinding jaiphal on stone, take the liquid on your finger and give it alternatively boil pinch of ajwain in 5 table spoon of water, filter the mixture and add 1 drop of honey and give it to relieve from gas and colic [ three times a day] 4. massage on child's umblicus with hing [asafoetida] to get relief from gas problems Dr. Munish Sood Naimittika
