What Can Be The Effect Of Double Dosage Of Metoprolol ?
Question: I took a dosage of metoprolol er (50 mg) at 5:30 p.m. and I accidentally took another 50 mg at 9:30 p.m.
I take this for high blood pressure. I took hydralzine (10 mg) at 2 p.m. and 60 mg of lisinopril at 9 a.m. and nothing else since. Do you think I took too much? My BP last checked at 3 p.m. was 139/71 & pulse is 67. I am 6'3' tall and weigh 170 & am 76 years of age. I still teach full time. YYYY@YYYY

Brief Answer:
It is fine. No need to worry.
Detailed Answer:
Hello Mr. XXXX.
Welcome to healthcaremagic.com and thank you for posting your question.
A repeat dose of metoprolol after a gap of 4 hours is not going to cause any problem at all. You can relax and stop worrying about it.
Please do continue your blood pressure medicines as per schedule.
A single extra dose would not cause any trouble.
Hope that answers your question, please feel free to write back if you need any further clarification.
Wishing you good health.
Warm regards
