What Can Be The Reason For Having Several Symptoms Like Sclerosis, HSV Etc ?
I am a 32-year old female, 117 pounds who works out at least five days a week and have always been in reasonably good health. My mother passed away from multiple sclerosis. Two years ago I was diagnosed with benign fasticulation syndrome due to various twitches on my body which I still have today. Three months ago, I fear I may have contacted HSV-1. Two days after the incident, slight muscle ache and lymph node was tender in neck. Pain vaginally too (only received oral sex-nothing else). I have been to three gyne/clinics-no evidence of traditional legions, although two diagnosed me with yeast infections. Four weeks after the incident, my nose itched for 24-hours. Strange white, dryish-mucus bogers formed in both nostrils. Never had that before, and it does not look like sinus-infection mucus. These have been with me for the last few months. Every few days, the mucus boger/scab comes out of my nose or down into my throat (post-nasal drip abounds). I had a facial rash that appeared for two days right after I washed my face; it died down after a few hours. Tiny, acne-like bumps keep popping up on my cheeks, forehead, and temples. I have a strange pin-print red dot under one eye and small bumps keep trying to form around it; the bumps respond to antibiotic soaps and last only a day or so. My skin looks a little more scaly/oily in those areas, but I seem to be the main person noticing the change. I also have a tiny scaly patch near a small bone by my ankle and one small patch on my elbow. These do not itch. In fact, nothing on my face itches too. At the same time, my eyelids are sometimes slightly swollen, and I am losing eyelashes. The upper eyelids look oily and scaly. My eye doctor diagnosed me with blepharitis and said ask a dermatologist about the eyelids. Finally, my initial HSV results after six-weeks were negative and am currently awaiting HSV results for 14 weeks. Are these all related? I have thoroughly terrified myself that I have HSV which led to autoimmune disorders like dermatomyositis or sjogren's syndrome (due to the dry eyes and now dry mouth-which is probably more anxiety at this point). Could these all be related? Why am I having so many strange symptoms at one time? What kind of doctor is best to put all this together?
I really understand your concerns.
After going through your history, I can say with certainty that all these symptoms are not related to any single disease/problem.
rash over the area or exposure and is easily identifiable clinically. However, you Gynecologist have ruled them out. Also, your HSV test is negative and as of now and its unlikely that it will be positive.
I have a feeling that due to your concern and extreme caution, you have started to pick up smallest of your symptoms and findings. Usually, such symptoms and findings do not have any clinical significance and do not need any treatment.
Yet, if you are concerned, you can get detailed evaluation done form a Physician. A good physician who can examine you in detail can pin point cause if any.
Be reassured.
If you ask me, I don't see any problem in you but for mild Rhinitis (Nose Flakes) and anxiety.
Hope this answers your query. Do get back if you need any further information
Thanks and Regards,
Dr Kiran.
