Question : Greetings, My father is using Glycomet GP1 for last 3 years and the suger is absolutely in control. Does this medicine has any steroids or any side effects ? Is it good in long term to use this medicine after taking food. Please advise.

Glycomet GP1 doesn't have any steroid in it . Well theoretically there are side effects of Glycomet GP 1 , most common are Low blood sugars, gastritis, while some rare causes are Kidney and liver problems .

Since he is on the medication without any side effects there is no problem in continuing the medication as long as his sugars are maintained in normal range.

I would advice to get a LFT and Serum Creatinine to know his liver and kidney status and you can repeat the test every year once.
