Dryness of vagina can be caused by various reasons which include atrophic vaginitis, if there is removal of ovaries, after the treatment for cancer and because of some drugs like anti-estrogen medications which usually are used for treating uterine fibroids or endometriosis.

Out of the above, atrophic vaginitis is most common in your age group of people. This is due to the estrogen production stoppage after menopause.
