What Casues Irregular Vaginal Spotting?

Question: Hello,
I am struggling with recurrent chemical pregnancies. I have been give clomid from my doctor to strengthen my ovulation and luteal phase and this is my first month using it. I am currently CD 10. However, I am concerned because I always spot 2-4 days before my period and 5-7 days at the end of my period. So that makes for a ton of spotting. Will the clomid help with this? Or if there anything else I should be tested for?

Brief Answer:
Clomid does help
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
The irregular spotting you have could be due to faulty ovulation, Clomid will help in healthy and planned ovulation increasing the chances of pregnancy and resulting in an healthy period.
There is no need for any further testing before trying clomid. Also, I would recommend addition of an a Progesterone supplement which would be very helpful for the cycles like you have.
Do discuss with your gynecologist about the same.
Hope, I answered your query.
Wish you good health.
Regards,

Thank you for your response. I will talk to my doctor about progesterone as well.
One other quick question... I have read that brown spotting before and after your period can be an indication endometriosis. My doctor doesn't seem concerned about that yet, but I do get extremely painful menstral cramps.Do you know if he would have seen endometriosis in my sonohystogram (SHG)? Or if brown spotting is really a symptom of this?
Thank you!

Brief Answer:
Not endometriosis
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing back.
Endometriosis responds to the hormones similarly as the endometrium in the uterus does. Non cyclical bleeding is not a sign of endometriosis.
Sonohystogram does help to identify endometriosis.
Brown spotting is not a sign of endometriosis.
