What Casues Neck Stiffness And Cracking?
I had a headache for the last year in the back of my head on those knots and serious neck stiffness and cracking. My back of my head would actually go to sleep. I have a previous nerve injury from a long time ago and was advised of the abnormality in nerve conductivity on my left side of body. There was a mess up on my records and found out much later. When I use my arms extensively especially my left arm I hurt all over my rib cage and down the left side. I raise my left arm and where under my arm meets the rest of my body it is so sore and inflammed at times. My arm would actually go to sleep a lot of times and the elbow seemed to be almost purplish. This has been going on for a very long tme. I can actually follow the nerve that hurts down from under the armpit area to somewhere past my rib cage and I can follow the nerve down my left leg that is so sensitive. So my question is Should I be seeing a Neurologist or some other physician and could this nerve problem be causing the headaches
You should see a Neurologist.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.
I have noted your symptoms. I agree with you that these are neurological symptoms and you should see a neurologist for further evaluation.
It is possible that there is pinching of nerves in the neck and lower back region, and causing your current symptoms. Your headaches could be related to it.
Medications such as pregabalin or gabapentin capsules would be helpful in relieving nerve pain.
In addition, physical therapy would also help.
I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.
Wishing you good health,
